Accurate wind speed measurements are extremely important to military operations ranging from paratroop drop zone safety, to artillery specialists and sniper teams. But Kestrel meters are loved just as much by sports shooters and hunters due to their outstanding accuracy and reliability. 

As expert snipers, we use the Kestrel weather meter to give us accurate atmospheric conditions and wind speeds at the shooting end. We will then use various other methods of judging wind speed and direction to calculate a final shooting solution for our engagement, which will send the bullet along its flight path often encountering numerous wind speeds and atmospheric conditions along its trajectory. The Kestrel is also very useful when calling in artillery, helicopter landing zones and landing zones for para-jumpers.
