Laser Range Finder

The laser range finder is a range finder which uses a laser beam to determine the distance to an object. They operate on a time of flight principal by sending a laser pulse in a narrow beam towards an object, and measures the time taken by the pulse to be reflected off the target and return to the sender, giving you the distance.

Handheld military grade rangefinders are combined with binoculars or monoculars. When the device is equipped with a digital magnetic compass (DMC) and inclinometer, it is capable of providing magnetic azimuth, inclination, and height of targets. Some rangefinders can also measure a targets speed.

What do we have?

Leica Rangemaster CRF 1600-B

After many weeks of reviews and research trying to find the best LRF available within our buget, we ended up choosing the Leica Rangemaster CRF 1600-B. We chose this model over several other brands that had also caught our eye, bushnell being one of them. Since our purchase in November 2015, we have tried and tested our Leica in many different environmets, and at a variety of distances. The results have been ideal, the quality and size is very impressive, and the functions are ideal for what we wanted. The LRF displays very accurate temperature, barometric pressure and angle inclination readings, as well as a simple ballistics program. All the features can be change to give you whichever output reading you preferer whether it be metric or imperial. The ballistics program can be set to match your scope and calibre.

Leica Guarantees superior optics and outstanding image brightness, with a wide field of view. With the CRF 1600-B, users can rely on precise distance measurements up to 1500m, while the rangefinder calculates the corresponding ballistic curve. The ABC ballistics program indicates data for the angle of declination, temperature, barometric pressure and ammunition type. The Leica Ringmaster CRF 1600-B comes with a 7x magnification, and features a carbon-reinforced plastic housing which is waterproof up to 1m.  â€‹
